I'm supposed to be on vacation this week. I don't remember the last time I went on vacation. But I also don't feel like I really need to take one. My life is my work, and my work is my life. It's all rolled up into one.
I love how God is directing me, and more often than not, whenever I take those mad leaps and follow the direction I'm given—and ignore all those lingering voices that try to hold me back or tell me what could go wrong—things turn out more extraordinary than I could imagine. The thing is, with more meditation and more faith, comes more awareness. With more awareness, comes the knowing of what path to take, when. With more experience of taking new pathways, comes life experiences filled with love, joy and an abundance of more than you could ask for. This is the way I like to explain how God works: Follow inner directions, and all good things come.
In the creation of our lives, we get to ask ourselves, "What do I really want?" This is one of our rights. Especially if you're someone who is spiritually oriented, you get to choose what kind of life you want to live.
For every person, this can be entirely different that what another would want. You may want more peace. You may want more exotic experiences. For me, it has always related to the heart, and having close relationships with people who are loving, kind, exceptional in their generosity to others in the world, and are quick to forgive. Wouldn't we all want that? I think for other people, they may want other things. It doesn't really matter. What does matter is that you ask yourself the question, and ask it often. What do you want? This isn't a selfish question. It's often a clarification. It exemplifies a faith in our desires, and the ability to create them. If you're not sure what you want, it's a good time to ponder it. Some people have so long abandoned any hope for being able to even ask that question, it's hard for me to see them unhappy in their lives, and not wish for them to even just ask the question. Just ask. Then its a matter of waiting for direction on what actions to take to receive it.
This week I am with my friend Assunta on the Adriatic coast of Italy. I met Assunta on Facebook many years ago, and we'd always maintained a very friendly, and spiritual connection. Finally this week I got to meet her and I am experiencing an abundance of the things I love about life, with her: a closeness, sharing of stories, enjoying the goodness all around us. These fruits—figs and plums—all came from her garden.
Heart opening was what was required for each of us to make this connection. Trusting and following inner guidance is what was required of each of us to move forward with having a visit. I had been wanting to be by the sea before the summer was over, and here, almost immediately after pondering it, and clarifying the desire, the opportunity came for me to come visit her on the Adriatic coast. I want to encourage you to up your spiritual game. I want to encourage you to increase the time spent in mediation and connecting with Source. I want to remind you, that a happy abundant life is always available for you to enjoy when you clarify what you want, and wait for inner guidance from your heart to show you the way. Are You Ready?
